Battle of the Books is an exciting game format used to encourage student reading and
participation. It challenges students' knowledge of eight pre-selected books. They are
asked questions based on the characters, plots, themes and settings of the books.
Points are scored by correctly identifying the titles and authors of the books.
The eight books selected were: Wonder by R.J. Palacio; Ungifted by Gordon Korman; Theodore Boone: kid lawyer by John Grisham; Between Heaven and Earth by Eric Walters; The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate; Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans; Define "Normal" by Julie Anne Peters; and How to Survive Middle School by Donna Gephart. After practicing for a couple of months at the school level, we participated in competitions. Two zone competitions were held. On Tues. March 25th, St. Theresa placed 4th at St. Dominic. On Thursday, March 27th, St. Theresa placed second at the St. Marguerite school competition. On Monday, March 31st, all Catholic schools competed in the city finals at Miller High school. This year we placed third and are very happy for our competitors. Congratulations St. Theresa!!!!!
